Redang Island is situated off the province of Terengganu in the east shore of Peninsular Malaysia. An extensive bay with azure waters, the wonderful location provides sights of tourism along with the desires to rest with peaceful and pleasant scenery.
How to Get To Redang Island
In this article, I will cover exactly how to go to there from anywhere in Malaysia. If you are not from here, simply book your flight to the country and follow this guide.
Before we start, you have to understand that to go to Redang Island; there are 2 jetties to there. You will go there by ferry. The 2 jetties are Merang Jetty and Shahbandar Jetty in Kuala Terengganu, Terengganu.
Flights to Redang Island

If you are going to there by flight, you can choose any flights you want such as AirAsia, Malaysia Airlines and FireFly. From nearest airport, you can fly to Kuala Terengganu Airport. Then, you can take taxi to either Shahbandar Jetty or Merang Jetty.
I recommend going to Merang Jetty as it only took 35 minutes to get there by taxi and more ferries depart from here.

Buses to Redang Island

There are many regular buses to Kuala Terengganu from numerous places in Malaysia. You can just search the buses from your place to Kuala Terengganu.
You are advised to take night trip as going to Kuala Terengganu could be long and tiring. If you take bus from Kuala Lumpur, the trip could be up to 8 hours.
From Kuala Terengganu Bus Terminal, simply take taxi to Shahbandar Jetty.

Ferry to Redang Island

There you go, just one last step to Redang Island.
Once you get to the jetty, just get to the ticket counter and ask them for ticket to Redang Island. The prices from both jetties are the same but the duration of the trip differs.
From Shahbandar Jetty to Redang Island, the trips take about to 1 hour and 30 minutes.
From Merang Jetty to Redang Island, the trips take about 45 minutes.
As addition, you need to pay for Marine Park Conversation Fee. Current costs for foreigners are RM30 for adults and RM15 for children. For Malaysians, RM5 for adults and RM2 for children.
